Talynn & Lou: Engaged!

Let me start by saying I LOVE the beach!
When Talynn contacted me and asked if I would mind spending a little extra time in the car so that we could head to the beach for her engagement shoot with Lou, I was like LET'S DO IT!!!
As the date grew closer, I was a little iffy on the weather, but in the end it turned out to be a beautiful day!!

I'm really excited that we were able to get such great shots at the beach because it totally goes along with their wedding theme. Talynn & Lou are following in my footsteps and will be getting married in my most favorite place in the whole wide world....ARUBA!! and I am MOST excited for them to be my first destination wedding clients!

Stephanie & Will were married on a gorgeous Saturday in March at the Notre Dame church in Easthampton. And when I say gorgeous, I mean gorgeous! It was some of the nicest weather we've had here in this area so far this year! AWESOME weather for this AWESOME couple's wedding day!

Steph & I were pretty good friends back in middle school, but went our separate ways after high school. It was SO great to see her again and I was really honored to be able to share this special day with her & her new husband.

So here is Part 1 (of a 2 part post) of Stephanie & Will's wedding day!

Is finally here!!
She was born on the morning of February 13th, 2010. Only about 7 and a half hours past her due date! Good job Malia!
Unfortunately I was not able to shoot her birth as we had planned, but we made up for it with her newborn session! Here is baby Malia at 1 week & 1 day old! Congrats again Tim & Amanda! She is beautiful!

The Many Faces of Tim!

I have never laughed so hard during a session in my entire life. seriously. It was the craziest session I've ever done! But I can't complain because it was one of the most fun. Once I got home and started going through all of the pictures, I was laughing hysterically all over again! (Even now, posting this, I am giggling!)

A little back story, Tim is one of my husband's best friends. He was our best man in our wedding and is quite the character! During his speech at our wedding, everyone was laughing so hard they were practically crying!

Yes, Tim is quite the funny guy...although his wife, Amanda may not think so most of the time! Hahahahaha! So here are some of my favorite Tim faces from the day. The full maternity session will be coming soon!

Rick & I welcomed two nieces to the family just days before we left for Aruba...his brother & sister-in-law had identical twin baby girls named Lucy & Zoey! I am back and Married!!
We just enjoyed 13 long days in Aruba!!! It was the most AMAZING trip EVER!! We had 36 of our closest family & friends join us for our destination wedding at the Renaissance Resort private island. Our wedding was like a dream! It was incredible!

So now that I'm back, I wanted to start getting back into the groove of things again. I just upgraded my camera and I'm really looking forward to doing some practice shoots to figure things out! My husband's brother just welcomed two wonderful little girls (identical twins!!) into their family and I can't wait to do a baby shoot!!

I seriously had so much fun shooting this wedding!
The entire day was amazing and I especially had fun at the reception!! The DJ was just AWESOME; everyone was getting their groove on and even I had to restrain myself from hittin the dance floor! I love it when everyone really lets loose because it makes for some great pics! The Groom was by FAR the best dancer though!

I feel like it has crept up so very fast...along with the cold weather!! Brrrr!

Memorial Day weekend at Cape Cod!

Went camping at the Cape this past weekend and had a fab time! Went to the Chatham pier to see the seals, had some yummy clam chowder from the Chatham fish market, rode our bikes on the Cape Cod Rail Trail to the National Seashore, and even went to P-town! Overall it was a great weekend!

Yesterday my mom & I took a bus trip to New York City. We took the ferry over to Liberty Island to see the statue and then also went to Ellis Island. Afterward we went to little Italy for a fabulous Italian meal! Mmmmmm.....Eggplant Parm!

I went to York, Maine over the weekend to do some shopping at the Kittery Outlets with a couple of my bridesmaids. We stayed at a hotel on the water and had the most amazing weather ever!! Especially for April! The Coast of Maine is one of my most favorite vacation spots...here are some pics from our short weekend getaway!

I was a little nervous about this session at first.....5 kids at once...yikes!! I was even having some anxiety dreams the night before I think!! eeks! But in the end, it actually went pretty well!

It's a Daffodil!!

I've been closely (and slowly) watching this flower as it grew in my back bed...
I could NOT figure out what the heck it was going to be! Well, it's open now and it's a bunch of yellow daffodils!!
I planted them last fall, but in the FRONT of the house!! Not 20 minutes after I planted them though, something had dug everything back up!!! (probably a squirrel or chipmunk)
I mumbled some not so nice things under my breath, covered the bulbs back up, and prayed for the best....LOL. Well, whatever it was must have dug the daffodil bulbs up and re-planted them in the back! I'm still patiently waiting to see what (if anything) is going to come up in the front!!
Either way, they sure are pretty!

My 1st post of the new year!! I'm sorry that it has been so long since my last post, but the photography is a little slow right now, which is ok because it has allowed me to focus on my wedding planning a bit more. I've got lots of interest though and I can see my schedule already starting to fill up!
Today I had the pleasure of taking family photos of my best friend (and also my MOH) Megan, her husband, & kids! We had a great time and got some really fun outdoor snow shots! Silly me forgot my stinkin boots, so Meg had this great idea for me to wear her snowshoes while we trudged through her backyard! I guess there's a first time for everything! Stayed tuned, I will be posting some teaser pics from this session very soon!
Also, I've decided to get my feet wet in the world of boudoir. My 1st volunteers are my best friend & her sisters!! I'm really excited to get started with this and can't wait to blog about it! Check back for pictures of these sessions in the coming months!!

My fiance was good to me this year! (well, he's is actually good to me EVERY year!) He bought me a canon 50mm f/1.8 lens along with a new camera bag that holds up to 6 lenses!! I am absolutely in LOVE with this lens! Thanks to the girls on the photography club board for recommending it! I spent Christmas day snapping away!! I bought myself a little holiday present as well....a canon 430EX Speedlite flash should be delivered this week!! Yipeee!!!

Between Christmas shopping and Christmas parties and Christmas wrapping and everything else going in our lives, it has been a CRAZY month!
Last week the hill towns in Western MA got hit pretty hard with a severe ice storm. Luckily, our town was missed! Rick & I decided to take some time out and take a ride up to see some of the damage.....for as bad as it was, it was absolutely beautiful!!

Today I spent some time at Mikey & Christen's house shooting their engagement pictures! I really think they came out SUPER cute even though Mikey was a little uncomfortable in front of the camera! I am really looking forward to their big day in May 2009! :o)

Today I was home sick from work, so I spent my time wisely and edited some more pics from our camping trip in New Hampshire. This coming weekend is going to be just as busy with 2 family sessions scheduled! Hopefully the weather will hold out!

Mt. Monadnock, NH

Rick & I went camping (yes, camping in October!! Brrrrrr) with some friends this past weekend to Mt. Monadnock State Park in New Hampshire. We camped out Friday night, hiked the mountain on Saturday, and camped out again on Saturday night. What a hike!! Took us 5.5 hours!! Needless to say I'm pretty sore today, BUT it was worth it because I got some great shots! Here are a few for now...more coming soon!

What a gorgeous weekend in western MA! I was really looking forward to doing this session today and because it was so beautiful out, it only made it that much better! I spent an hour with a close friend of mine & her kids taking family photos at Stanley Park. The little one did awesome and I'm really grateful that her 11 year old son was such a good sport! My 1st wedding! Booked!

No pictures to post today, BUT, I booked my 1st wedding!!! Yay!!! Spoke to Christen this evening and I am going to shoot her wedding in May 2009. They will be getting married at Storrowtown village in WestSpringfield, MA. I wouldn't normally jump into a wedding so quickly, but because her and her fiance are good friends of ours (me & my fiance), I feel confident I can do job! I'm recruiting Shannon as my assistant to make sure we capture every moment of the day! Yipeee! I am most excited!! :o)

Every morning I drive the back roads to work and during my 45min drive, I have found so many great spots that I keep intending to take some pics of. So this morning, on my way out the door, I decided to grab my camera. I could only make a few stops to take pics though or otherwise I would have wound up being late! Here's what I came up with!

I had my first engagement session with some close friends of mine this past weekend. It was a little weird at first especially because I didn't really know what I was doing (like if I was supposed to tell them to pose or stand a certain way), but after an hour or so it wasn't so bad. I knew I got some pretty good shots, but once I got home and was able to look at them on the computer I was quit happy and excited with what I got!! Here are some of my favs below!

Wow! My very first post!
Well, I guess this is going to be my little photography blog until I can create a website and really get things going. Thanks to fellow DW knottie AshNicole for this idea, as we both are traveling down the same road and trying to make something out of our hobbies!

I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. It is one of my most favorite things to do....besides travel of course. Since I started looking for a wedding photographer for our upcoming wedding in November 2009, it has really inspired me to take things a little further and see what I am capable of doing! I am very excited to do something I absolutely love!
